A Midlands based band, Taste Of Purple was formed first and foremost by fans of Deep Purple’s music – this is a band formed out of a love of music and for the pure pleasure that playing this music gives them. They have set themselves the challenging task of faithfully reproducing that great ‘70’s classic rock vibe for band and audience alike to enjoy!
The inspiration for the bands name comes from the highly under-rated album ‘Come Taste The Band’, which was released in 1975 and featured Tommy Bolin on guitar and, not unlike Purple themselves at this point in their rejuvenated career, the energy and enthusiasm that Taste Of Purple project on stage is clear when you see the band in a live situation.

DEEP PURPLE tribute band Taste Of Purple quenches your thirst for classic heavy rock with a delivery that is powerful, emotional and full of energy and enthusiasm. Playing all the classics and many more besides, this is one storm you won’t want to miss!
Some of the band have been regularly joined on stage by Bernie Marsden as part of another project, and have also played as part of his backing band in support of his tribute album to Peter Green, whilst others have played the prestigious Fairport Convention Festival. Other notable artists with whom the band has crossed paths are Deep Purple’s current keyboard player Don Airey - swapping Hammond settings and phone numbers, among other things!
The band consists of: Paul Hurley, Neil Haynes, Nick Bullard, Jeremy Payne.
